Open Outdoor Burning

For residential burning, a burn permit must be obtained from your local fire agency and burning can occur only on California Air Resource Board (CARB) permissive burn days. The link below will show you if CARB has determined that it is a burn day from an air quality perspective. This does not mean that your local fire agency has determined it is safe to burn from a wildfire prevention perspective. You must also check with your local fire agency, which is the entity that issued your burn permit, before you engage in open outdoor burning.
