Asbestos


The Great Basin Unified Air Pollution Control District (District) enforces compliance with the Asbestos National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) regulation to protect public health. The Asbestos NESHAP specifies work practices and notification requirements for demolitions and certain renovations of regulated structures.

Applicability Guide

Any person filing a notification for a project subject to the NESHAP requirements (District Rule 1002) shall pay the applicable fee as set by the District's current fee schedule. The notification is required for demolitions even if there is no asbestos present. The notification should be submitted no later than ten working days prior to the beginning of any work.
